Alice Christine Bailey Miller 84, of the Carleton Nursing Home, Wellsboro, PA formerly of 107 First St., Elkland, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2004, at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. She was the youngest daughter of Roy J. and Ruth Brock Bailey. She was born in Knoxville, PA, on September 25, 1919 and has resided in Elkland all but nine years of her life, having graduated from Elkland High School in 1938. She served a term of five years as Elkland Boro Justice of the Peace, being the first and only female serving in that capacity. She was a longtime Republican Committeewoman for the Elkland Boro. She was later Secretary to District Justice William Buckingham and retired from that position. She attended Elkland United Methodist Church. Her husband, Bion W. Warren, predeceased Mrs. Warren on January 30, 1995. She is survived by son and daughters-in-law, Bion R. and Melanie Warren, RR#3, Westfield, PA, and David and Patricia Miller of West Bloomfield, NY; grandchildren, Paul W. and Samuel R. Warren, RR#3, Westfield, Christine (William) Francis, Knoxville, PA, David Lee Miller, Wyoming, NY and John Paul Miller, Stevensville, Maryland; and one great-grandson, David Charles Miller, Wyoming, NY; and five step grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Betty Farmelo and Mary Jane Horton; brothers, Jack and Robert Bailey; and sister-in-law, Nellie Allen. A personal thank you to all her wonderful caregivers at the Carleton Nursing Home. Your dedication to her and her family will never be forgotten. You made her so happy these last few months of her life. She loved you all very much. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 28, 2004, from 1 to 2 p.m. with the funeral following calling hours at 2 p.m. at the Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland, PA. Rev. Natalya Cherry of the Austinburg United Methodist Church will be officiating at the service. Burial in Highland Cemetery, Elkland, PA. Memorial donations can be made to the Elkland United Methodist Church in Alice's memory.
