PETERS, ALICE ROSE, 74Ocala - Alice Rose Peters, 74, of Ocala, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 23, 2012, after a prolonged illness. Alice was born on August 23, 1938 in Egg Harbor, NJ and moved to South Florida in 1960. She worked as a secretary and restaurant server until she retired and moved to Ocala to be closer to her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was a active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as the Worthy Grand Matron of Florida in 2007-2008. She enjoyed Miami Dolphin and Florida Gator football games. She was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her father, William Whitmyer and her mother, Elizabeth Whitmyer. She leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, John Louis Peters; daughter, Alice Carlisle (Andrew) of Ocala; sons, William Peters of North Palm Beach, FL and John L. Peters, Jr. of Denison, TX; sister, Kathleen Montgomery (Sam) of Ocala; grandchildren, Christopher Carlisle (Robyn) of Ocala, Jennifer Carlisle of Lake Mary, FL, David P. Peters of North Palm Beach, FL; nephew, James Montgomery of Boynton Beach, FL, two great grandchildren, Reagan and Jack of Ocala and canine companion, Kristina. A Memorial Service will be held at Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce Chapel East, 2739 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala 732-9944 on Wednesday March 27th at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marion County, P.O.
