ALICE FAYE ATMORE SMITH, 68Retired Principal & Educator BABSON PARK - Mrs. Alice Faye Atmore Smith, 68, of Babson Park, Florida, died of heart failure at Lake Wales Medical Center, August 1, 2012. She was born in Statesboro, Georgia and was a retired Principal and Educator from the Polk County School Board. She was a member of Allen Temple AME Church, Lake Wales, a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1962 in Lake Wales. She furthered her education at Bethune Cookman College now named Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida and University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 36 years David McArthur Smith, Sr. of Babson Park, FL, her (3) birth sons: John C. Gaines III (Carolyn) of Babson Park, FL, Michael D. Smith, Sr. (Carmencita) of Lake Wales, FL, Robert D. Smith of Lakeland, FL; Wilbert Edwards, of Houston, TX and David M. Smith, Jr. of Orlando, FL; daughter: Alicia Gaskins of Lake Wales, FL; brother: James Atmore of Plainfield, NJ; sisters: Lilly Lee of Lakeland, FL and Sarah Lawrence of Statesboro, GA; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation: Friday, August 10, 2012, 7 - 9 pm at Allen Temple AME Church, 241 "C" Street, Lake Wales, Florida.
