George Cadoret was baptized in May 1632 in Saint-Pierre, Morbihan, Brittany. Son of Jean Cadoret et Barbe Tortus, he married Anne Jopy, daughter of Jean Jopy and Marie Bouru in 1657 in Quebec City. The union remains childless. His wife having died, he marries his second wife, Barbara Boucher, daughter of Pierre Boucher and Marie-Anne St. Denis in April 1686 in Château-Richer. From this union were born nine children. Came to this country around 1652, he makes travel deals before settling in Lauzon, where he operates a farm. In 1681, he owns one gun, four heads of cattle and 20 acres of land. He died in 1711 in Lauzon.

CADORET - Comes from the Breton name "Catuuoret", from "cad" which means fighting and "uuoret" which means help. Nickname given to some soldiers, which literally means bringing help in combat.
