OLD TOWN - Thomas Nadeau Jr., 75, passed away peacefully Feb. 2, 2005, in the arms of his loving wife of 52 years, with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Old Town, a son of Thomas Sr. and Rose (Russell) Nadeau. Tom was a 1948 graduate of Old Town High School and married Germaine on May 3, 1952. He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at Parks Pond. In his earlier years, Tom enjoyed skating and skiing. In high school he played football and track and field. He coached Old Town Little League for many years. He was a kind, quiet and patient man who devoted his life to his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Germaine; nine children, Thomas Nadeau and his wife, Barbara, of Bradley, Dawn O'Leary and her husband, Dan, of Bradley, Joey Nadeau and his wife, Marisa, of Milford, David Nadeau and his companion, Vera Averill, of Milford, Peter Nadeau and his wife, Kathy, of Bradley, Brenda Thurston of Stillwater, Timmy Nadeau and his wife, Rosie of Bradley, Gail Nadeau and her companion, James Garland, of Old Town; Amy Cates and her husband, Mark of Old Town; 20 grandchildren, Beth, Kari, Tami, Jodi, Kati, Randy, Renee, Tia, Taryn, Chrissy, Brandon, Whitney, Chelsey, Kasey, Matt, Nick, Abby, Josh, Tyler, and Sara; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Landon, Cody, Caleb, Brianna, Jacob, Hunter, Eliza, and one expected in July; and by the family pet, "Milo." He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Ralph and Joseph Nadeau; sister, Shirley Shirland; and a son-in-law Rodney Thurston. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille, celebrant. Spring interment will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Immediately following the Mass all are invited to the Parish hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Family Parish, Church Building Fund, 429 Main St. Old Town.
