Shirley Williams - Merritt Island - Shirley L. Williams, 73, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Ralph Williams, Jr. (Assistant Superintendent of Brevard County School Board). Shirley was a prominent educator for over 34 years and retired as an Assistant Principal from Gardendale Elementary School. A viewing will be held Friday, March 20th, from 1 to 7 p.m., at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, 1240 N. Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, FL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2009 (her birth day), at 11 a.m., at Mt. Moriah A.M.E. Church, 234 Stone Street, Cocoa, FL. Her memories will be cherished by her son, Ralph (Collene) Williams, III; daughter, Rachel M. Williams; three grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph Cooper. Stone Funeral Home in Cocoa is entrusted with final arrangements.
