Obituary of Ruth Williams


RUTH A. WRIGHT WILLIAMS of Center VillageRuth A. Wright Williams, 77, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2001 at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal after a fifty year battle with multiple sclerosis. She was predeceased by her husband Edson Williams in 1982 and by a brother James Wright. She is survived by a sister Isabelle Platt of Florida; two daughters and their families Jane and Roland Hurlburt, Chenango Forks and their children Michael and Michelle. Lois and James Dobbs, Collinsville, Alabama and their children, Duane, Lisa, and Kenneth; seven great grandchildren and Keith and Ward Rowe. Ruth was noted for her wit and sense of humor. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Root Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Blasko, Pastor of Twin Orchards Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Nineveh Cemetery. Friends of the family may call Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango St., Greene. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, South Central Chapter, 32 W. State St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901. A special thanks to the nurses and staff of South Wing 1 at Willow Point Nursing Home for their wonderful care given to Ruth.
