Robert Earl Cox, age 67, of Buffalo, Mo., passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Buffalo, Mo. He was born February 10, 1943, in Urbana, Mo., to Jack and Gertrude (Sweaney) Cox. Robert graduated from Tunas High School in 1961. He married Mary Carsten in 1966. He owned Cox Concessions for many years, retiring in 2008, and prior to owning the concession business Robert worked for Bolivar Insulation. Robert loved basketball, he was a big Lakers and Celtics fan, and enjoyed watching his nieces playing basketball, he enjoyed reading the newspaper.He was preceded in death by his parents Jack Sheldon and Gertrude (Sweaney)Cox , his grandparents James and Rose Cox, and one brother Jackie B. Cox. He is survived by two sisters Connie C. Cox Wisdom of Urbana, Mo Betty Jean Cox Pinkerman, Sugar Creek Mo. , three step children Jackie , Jerry and Nick, nine step grandchildren Josh, Cassie, Jesse, Talon, Summer, Zach, Robbie, Christopher, and Colten, Roberts good friend and caretaker Jean Simmons and her daughter Stacy and two foster grandchildren Bailey and Bud, and his two dogs Katie and Annie. Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday October 23, 2010 at Mission Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Urbana Mo. with Brother Loren Dryer, Brother Chris Wisdom and Brother Terry Gentry officiating. The family would like to thank Kathy and the Hospice Staff, and Dr. Perason and staff, Nieberg Pharmacy and staff, and friends and family who have supported the family. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo. Robert will be truly missed by all his friends, family and neighbors.
