Obituary of Mary-Lue Jones


Mary Lue Jones, 84, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 12, 2001. Born in Callahan, FL, raised in Yulee, FL then moved to Jacksonville, FL in her 20's. She was a Hair Dresser from the early 60's, she owned and operated Thomas Beauty Shop until 1999. She was a member of Women's Club of South Jax, Ladies Auxiliary Elks Lodge # 221, German American Club, Moose Lodge # 42, Widow and Widowers Club, Jacksonville Ballroom Dance Association, and American Ballroom and Contemporary Dance. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents John David and Verdie White Jones, brothers and sisters Furman B. Jones, John D. Jones, Jr., W.S. Jones, Thelma Johns, Monica Bowman, and Dorothy Johnson, her husbands Bonnie B. (BB) Tommy Thomas and Albert V. Jones. She is survived her niece Anna J. Baker and her husband Gary, nephew Furman B. Jones and his wife Mary Peeples, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2001 in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 6940 Atlantic Boulevard with Rev. John Jones of Celebration Baptist Church in Yulee, FL officiating. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
