MILLPORT Mary Kate Williams, age 92, of Millport, died Feb. 22, 2008, at the Care Center of Vernon. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel in Millport with Sonny McLellan officiating. Burial will follow at the Millport City Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mary Kate Williams was born in Fayette County Alabama on June 22, 1915. Her parents were Charlie Carrell Mouchette and Maude Dunn Mouchette. She moved to Millport as an infant and has lived in Millport since that time. In 1934, she married Joseph Ardus (Art) Williams, and six children were born of this marriage. She was a housewife and mother and worked to make the family farm profitable. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Nannie Mae Mouchette; daughter, Annie Laura Williams Billingsley; grandson, Morgan Williams; and son-in-law, Harold Williams. She was known to her family, friends and community as a beautiful woman with kindness of heart, a loving mother, and one who worked hard for her every accomplishment. She loved her church and church family. She always looked to the needs of her family before her own wants, and was considered by her children to be the very meaning of the word "mother." Children are Carolyn Williams of Reform, Glyien (Cynthia) Williams of Millport, J. A. (Kay) Williams of Millport, Shirley Williams of Millport, and Mary Nell (Barry) Williams Parham of Steen, Miss. Brothers are Clyde Mouchette of Midwest City, Okla., Standley Mouchette of Morton, Miss., Jackie Mouchette of Caledonia, Miss., and Gladys Patterson of Decatur.She has nine grandchildren: Mark, Anita, Sandra, Joe, Angie, Jason, Justin, Heather, and Allen. She has twelve great grandchildren. Cecilia, Bonnie, MarkDavid, Kari, Matt, Emma, Bill, Delaney, Trey, Keri, Hunter, Clint, and Jack Glyien.Special friend of the family, Mrs. Jean Black. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Joe Billingsley, Jason Williams, Justin Williams, Hunter Williams, Allen Parham, and Trey Williams.
