Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary announces the death of Marjorie Peebles Womack, age 88, of Swainsboro, on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro. The funeral service will be Thursday, October 4th, at 2 p.m. at Blundale Baptist Church in Blundale, Ga., with the Rev. Jamie Archer and the Rev. Paul Curry officiating. Interment will be in the Blundale Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are nephews. Mrs. Womack will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. Born December 7, 1918, she was the daughter of R.T. and Elizabeth Woods Peebles. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted member of Blundale Baptist Church. She lived in the Blundale Community for 60 years with her late husband, Aubry Womack. The last five years of her life she lived with many friends at Southern Manor in Statesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Kay Davis. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dennis Mincey of Statesboro; one son, Aubry Jinx Womack of Swainsboro; one sister, Alma Anderson of Swainsboro; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David D. and Tara Mincey of Statesboro; two great-grandsons, Cole and Cale Mincey of Statesboro; many nieces and nephews.
