MacKENZIE _ Margaret (nee Degnan) December 18, 1915 - August 13, 2007 Margaret MacKenzie of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Intercare Chinook Care Centre on Monday, August 13, 2007 at the age of 91 years. Margaret was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, and in 1933 was married to Jim. A few years after his passing she re-married Hughie MacKenzie. Margaret and Hughie immigrated to Canada in 1966 following in the footsteps of some of her children. They landed in Montreal and later moved to Calgary. Margaret loved to travel, seeing many parts of the world, but her visits to Banff and Bragg Creek were always very special to her. She made many friends and brought joy to many people and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all of those she touched. Margaret leaves behind to mourn, three brothers and a sister-in-law, Peter and Mary Degnan, Thomas Degnan and Francis Degnan; four daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Sam McMahon, Margaret and Robert Brown, Grace and John Carpenter, and Prudie Bryans; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Joan Kennedy and Thomas and Sheila Kennedy. She will also be lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Anne Kennedy; her twenty-two grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her first husband James Kennedy in 1960; second husband Hughie MacKenzie in 1992; three sons, Bill, James and John Kennedy; two grandchildren, Arthur Bryans and Jason Kennedy; and by her son-in-law Sam Bryans. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church (321 - 90 Avenue S.E.) on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
