SIMPSON, LILLIAN EDITH-1907-2005 After a long and happy life, Lillian Simpson passed away peacefully on June 11, 2005, in Estevan, Saskatchewan. She was born in Estevan and spent all her life in the Estevan area. She taught at the Mizpah school for several years before marrying George Simpson in 1934. They farmed in the Albany district until moving to Estevan in 1947 when George became the first general manager of the Estevan Co-op. She loved to entertain, was an enthusiastic bridge and scrabble player, and travelled widely. She was active in the United Church and Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by her two daughters, Audrey (Harry) Sabier of Regina and Lois (Glen) Mumey of Cowley, Alberta; grandchildren, David Sabier, Karen (Shawn) Derby, Christine Landy, Brendan (Susan) Mumey and Sol (Carol) Mumey; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Leigh Derby, Cheyne and Anika Landy, and Abigail and Julia Mumey. She is also survived by her special sister, Eva Fitzgeorge-Parker of Vancouver. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, George Simpson; her parents, Mabel (Atkinson) and Dalton Wilson, and her brother, Harold Wilson. The family would like to thank the staff at Hill View Manor for their kind care of our mother. A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13 at St. Paul's United Church in Estevan.
