<!-- FH = BLOUNT, CURRY & ROEL FUNERAL -->BOLAN, John Charles, 71, of Plant City, Fla., went home to be with his Lord Sept-ember 26, 2011, surround-ed by family and friends. John was born August 8, 1940, in Tampa and spent his youth in Alabama. He later returned to Tampa, where he married his wife, Augusta Hayes, November 23, 1971. John was a devoted father and loving husband. John's lifelong passion was writing. For over 40 years, he wrote beautiful poems and gospel songs about the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ. His poems were written to encourage and inspire people from all walks of life, including family, friends, celebrities and anyone needing a touch of God's grace. His desire was that others would come to faith in Jesus Christ through his words. He touched many lives over the years, and will always be remembered for his funny stories and deep compassion for others. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald, and sister, Jackie. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Augusta; sister, Carol of Mobile, Ala.; sons, Ryan and Paul and his wife, Sandy; and grandbaby, Melody. He will be greatly missed by all. The family will receive friends 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with funeral services following at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 East Lake Ave., Tampa.
