Mr. Joe E. "Bubbie" Williams - SAVANNAH - Mr. Joe E. Williams entered into eternal rest on Monday June 29, 2009 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. He attended Haven Home Elementary School, and graduated from Beach High School in 1957. He had many vocational callings, and attempted several others, including a stint at being a longshoreman dock worker. His most arduous pursuit was of course, his life-long affair with golf. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He leaves to mourn in his passing his devoted, lifelong partner and companion, Lucy Harmon, a daughter, Diane English, a son-in-law, Tony English, "children" Ella Marie Harmon, Sandra Harmon, Robert Harmon, Cynthia Brisbon, Annette Patterson, many grandchildren, great grand-children, brother Wesley "Gerald" Williams of Tampa, Florida, sisters Joan E. Williams Kirksey of Sacramento, California, Carol "Baby" Williams Ward of Carson, California, an aunt, Eva Poole, an uncle, Marcus "M.D." Phillips of Dover, Delaware, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Macedonia Baptist Church (Sandfly Community) The Rev. Jerome Stokes, Officiating. Interment: Eugenia Cemetery.
