James Sidney Davis, 70, of East Orange, N.J., departed this life on Monday, May 26, 2014, to rest eternally. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Monday, June 2, from the Woody "Home For Services," 163 Oakwood Ave., Orange, N.J., where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. until time of services. Born June 18, 1943, in Oxford, N.C., to James Mac Davis and Martha Royster, Mr. Davis was a resident of Orange for more than 50 years. He was a scout master with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 5D in Orange. Mr. Davis was a custodian for the East Orange Board of Education at Clifford J. Scott High School and Goldberg Realty in Caldwell, N.J., retiring in 2002. Mr. Davis was the loving father of Owen L. Davis and James A. Davis; adored grandfather of Clifton O. Davis and Leya J. Moore, and caring father-in-law of Debra M. and Eboney L. Davis. He is also survived by his wife, Gail Davis, and other relatives and friends.
