Jack E. Williams Jack E. Williams, 71, who retired as a professor at the University of Wisconsin, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, in Tallahassee. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. EDT Monday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308; the Monticello Opera House, 185 W. Washington St., Monticello, FL 32344; or the Tallahassee Little Theatre, 1861 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303.A native of Lima, Ohio, he lived in Milwaukee, where he was professor emeritus with the University of Wisconsin. He taught history and philosophy of education for 30 years of his 45-year teaching career. Community theater was a longtime joy for Mr. Williams. He participated in local theater productions with the Monticello Opera House, Tallahassee Little Theatre and Tallahassee Community Chorus.Sunny days would find him on his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, his greatest passion, enjoying Tallahassee's beautiful weather and canopy roads. Survivors include his life partner of 20 years, Joan Wirth; two sons, David Williams (and wife Lynda) of Milwaukee and Mark Williams (and wife Lynn) of Columbus, Ohio; their mother, Liz Williams; a brother, Joseph Williams; a sister, Janet Kuck; seven grandchildren; and a longtime dear friend, Rich Miller of Tallahassee.
