CHELMSFORD - Gerald Lantagne, 80, a longtime Lowell resident, died Saturday, May 22, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Marion (Aubrey) Lantagne.He was born in East Chelmsford on Aug. 6, 1923, a son of the late George and Alice (Tighe) Lantagne. He was educated in Chelmsford schools and graduated with honors from Chelmsford High School in 1942.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lantagne was a regional sales manager for the Beechnut Co. for 35 years.He lived most of his life in Lowell, where he was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish and past president of the Holy Name Society.Mr. Lantagne, a tenor, enjoyed singing and spending time with his family at the beach.In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine and John Wajda of Hudson, Margaret and Edward Tandus of Dracut, Gail and Todd O'Donnell of Hudson and Terry and Mark Carney of Moody Beach, Maine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Jean Lantagne of Merrimack, N.H. and Stephen and Lynne Lantagne of Wethersfield, Conn.; a son-in-law, Peter Ricciardi of North Chelmsford; two brothers, Raymond and Harold Lantagne, both of Lowell; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.He was also the father of the late Patricia Ricciardi, and brother of the late Pauline Kane, Alice Murphy, Margaret Towle, and George, Edward, Rev. William, Vera, Vincent and Claire Lantagne.
