George "Ray" Williams on November 5, 2003 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ. He was 84. Born on April 3, 1919 in Goshen, NY to George W. and Elizabeth Gatley Williams. Ray Williams graduated from Casey Jones School of Aeronautics in Newark, NJ in 1937, where he received his Aircraft mechanics gov. licenses. He worked at the Glenn Martin Aircraft Factory and returned to teach at Casey Jones in 1939-1940 and again in 1942. He served in the Navy Air Corps as a Mechanic in World War II. Following WWII, he was a pilot mechanic for the Clamson Brothers at Star Haven Airport in Middletown. He later ran his own businesses at Randall, Warwick & Monticello Airports from 1953 to retirement. He was Chief Mechanic and Director of Maintenance for American Can Corp. Executive Fleet at Westchester County Airport. He also held a commercial pilot's license since 1939. He was the recipient of many citations and awards from the Federal Aviation Administration and Manufacturers for good maintenance and modifications. He is survived by his son, Raymond Williams of Surfside Beach, SC; his daughter, Barbara Kriz of Pearl River, NY and grandson, Michael Williams of Clear Water, FL; and his loving companion and friend, Janet Mohr. Funeral Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 10:45 am at St. John's the Evangelist Church, Goshen, NY. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Visitation at Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY on Friday, November 7, 2003 from 7-9 pm.
