George Robert "Bob" Williams -Savannah- George Robert "Bob" Williams, 79, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 at Hospice Savannah surrounded by his family. He was a long time resident of Savannah. Bob was retired from the US Postal Service and Candler Hospital where he work in the Maintenance Department. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during WWII in the 52nd Airborne Division. He was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church and the Couples Sunday School Class. Survivors: his wife of 61 years, Barbara "Bobbie" Bell Williams; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Joyner and Michael Chancey of Savannah, Debra and Paul Lafferty of , Guyton, five grandchildren, Jamey Ake, Ashley Towson Runkle, James "Jimmy" Towson, Robert Burnett, Marcus Lafferty; four great grandchildren, Caleb Ake, Christian Runkle, Brinstian Runkle, Kaylie Towson; several nieces, nephews, and other family. Memorial contribution may be made to Bull Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 17 East Anderson Street, Savannah, GA 31401. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Bull Street Baptist Church with Rev. Earnie Pirkle officiating. Burial: Hillcrest West Cemetery.
