U.S. ArmyWINTER HAVEN -- Mr. George W. Davis of Winter Haven died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 6, 2005) in Winter Haven. He was 86.Born in Areola, Ala., on July 7, 1919, he came to Winter Haven from Midway, Ala., in 1976. He was a weapons instructor in the Army, retiring as a master sergeant. He later worked as a wildlife manager at Enon Farm Plantation in Midway. He was a Protestant.Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Doris Davis; son, Radford William Davis, Winter Haven; daughter, Joyce Akeson, Winter Haven; sister, Katherine Marchman, Sealy, Texas; two grandchildren; one greatgrandchild.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Florida National Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Polk County, 555 Sage Road, Winter Haven, 33881.
