WILLIAMS, Mrs. Evelyn Granade, of Andalusia, AL, died Thursday, March 21, 2002 in a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held Sunday, March 24, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jason Green officiating. Interment will be in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born in and grew up in Marion County, Alabama in the Boston Community. She was a graduate of The University of Montevallo where she received her degree in Home Economics. She moved to Covington County in 1938 and taught Home Economics at Pleasant Home School and then at Straughn School. She married Dent Williams and for several years she and her husband owned and operated The Williams, a ladies apparel store in Andalusia. Mrs. Williams was a member of The Central Church of Christ in Andalusia, a member of the El Martes Garden Club and a former member of the American Association of University Women. Survivors include her husband, Charles Dent Williams, Sr. of Andalusia; one son, Dr. Charles Dent Williams, Jr. of Montgomery, AL and a daughter, Nancy Williams Sylya of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Catherine Southwell Williams of Los Angeles, Calif. and Elizabeth Hoomes Williams of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Lillian G. Carnes and Mary G. Owsley, both of Birmingham, Alabama and Mildred G. Barber of Haleyville, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Craig Kilpatrick, M. V. Stokes, Lester Thomasson, Larry Popwell, James Rabren and Sam Dozier. Flowers or memorials to ones choice will be accepted.
