911 Operator WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mr. Evans O. Davis, 68, of Lundburg Rd., died Friday afternoon at Wills Memorial Hospital. Mr. Davis was a native of Wilkes County and had lived there all of his life. He was a retired 911 operator, and a member and deacon of the Clifford's Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Davis was the son of the late Noel C. Davis and Annie Laurie Evans Davis. Funeral services will be Monday morning, November 13, 2006 at 11:00 at the Clifford's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. O'Neal Martin and Peter Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Scoggins, Ricky Stevens, Ty Davis, Scott Blaine, Chryer Poss and Bobby Stevens. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Sue Stevens Davis, of the home; one daughter, Faye Scoggins and husband, Bill, of Augusta; two grandchildren, Dylan and Hannah Scoggins; a grand niece, Stephanie Scoggins; two brothers, Gerald Davis, Lincolnton and Lane Davis of Thomson; brother-in-law, W.A. Stevens, Jr. of Washington; niece and nephews, Vickie Stevens, Rickey Stevens and Ty Davis; grand niece and grand nephew, Leah and Scott Stevens and a beloved pet, Scarlett. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home.
