Eleanor Joann (Thompson) Ward, 68, Venice, died Nov. 4, 2004. She was born Dec. 19, 1935, in Geary, W.Va., and came to Venice in 2001 from Berwyn Heights, Md. She retired as a PBX operator at Marriott Washington Park in Washington D.C. Survivors include her husband, Chris; sons Michael Bird of Venice and Kevin Thompson of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Angel Ministries, located at 2269 Tamiami Trail in Venice. Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, is in charge.
