CARLSON, Barbara Olive (nee Woods) - passed away after a brief struggle with cancer at the North Bay General Hospital on March 7, 2008, at the age of 65 when her Lord and Saviour mercifully took her home to Glory. Barbara was the dearly beloved wife of David Carlson (of Carlson Sports) for 42 years and loving mother to sons Dan (Nancy), Dale (Tammy), and daughter Elizabeth (David) Aitken, and sister to Paul (Judy) Woods. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her grandsons Ethan and Christian Aitken and soon-to-be granddaughter Evangeline Carlson (Dale & Tammy). She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Pearl Woods. She has been the organist at Calvary Temple for over 40 years and volunteered her services for Cassellholme Hymn Sing and local funeral homes for many years. Visitation will be at Calvary Pentecostal Temple, 271 Ski Club Road, on Monday, March 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and her celebration of life will be at the same location on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes Centre, the Gideons, the Canadian Bible Society.
