LEWISTON -- Barbara C. Lemieux, 95, formerly of Winthrop and of Central Avenue in Lewiston, passed away on Wednesday, Jan 11, 2006, at Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston.She was born in Augusta on March 21, 1910, a daughter of Orin and Grace Harriman Frost.A graduate of Cony High School and Machias Normal School, Barbara taught kindergarten for 22 years in Winthrop, Manchester, Gouldsboro and Windsor.She was predeceased by her first husband, Ellis W. Gerrish, in May 1978; her sister, Lt. Col. Anna Marie Hunter, in October 1995; her son, Donald Gerrish, in 1990; and her second husband, Lionel Lemieux, in January 2004.She is survived by her daughter, Ann Clark of Gardiner; her stepson, Paul and wife Linda Lemieux of Orlando, Fla.; her stepdaughter, Janet and husband Charles McMahon of Rockland; her sister, Helen McKenney of Waterville; three grandchildren, David S. Patterson of Bangor, Kathryn Patterson of Richmond, and Colin A. Clark and his wife, Jessica, of Augusta; one great-granddaughter, Cassidy Grace Clark; eight stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14.Burial will be in the spring in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Alzheimer's Care Association, 163 Lancaster St., Portland, ME 04101.
