Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Village Chapel for William "Big Bill" Thomas Humphrey, 53, of Attalla, who died July 17, 2014. The Rev. Larry Perkins and Frank Umphrey will officiate. Burial will take place at Clayton Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.Bill was an avid bass guitarist and belonged to several Southern gospel bands. He loved attending auctions and was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Marie and John White; father, Louie Humphrey Sr.; and sister, Susan Elaine White.He is survived by Janice Humphrey; children, Tina (Dewayne) Hayes, Billy (Mary) Humphrey, Deanna (Jason) Higgins; brothers, Louie (Patricia) Humphrey, Chris Humphrey, Chuck Humphrey; sisters, Cathy (Greg) Stokes, Virginia Reeves and Johnnie Works; grandchildren, Landon, Dauton, Brayson, Tanner, Conner and Peyton; stepgrandchildren, Garrett, Jessica and Ally; special niece, Alexia Works; several nieces and nephews; special pets, Izzy, Jack and Baby.Pallbearers will be Billy Humphrey, Jason Higgins, Dewayne Hayes, Greg Stokes, Adam Spinks, Mike Whitcomb, Michael Reeves, Jon Reeves and Austin Works.Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Stokes, Landon and Dauton Allen, and Ryan of Auction Dynasty.The family wishes to express special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, nurses, Rosalin, Peggy Estes, and Dr. Ashvini Sengar.The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
