Mr. William T. Woodard, affectionately called "Woody," 77, of Statesville, N.C., died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, as the result of an automobile accident. Services are on May 27, 2013, at 12 noon at Landmark Church of God, Statesville. Rev. Reginald Keitt will officate and Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II, president of the North Carolina NAACP Conference of Branches, will eulogize. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery with military rites. Woody was born in Wilson, N.C., on May 24, 1935, and was the son of the late John and Hattie Hodges Woodard. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy P. Woodard, of his home; two sons, William Woodard II (Sharon), of Willingboro, N.J., and Jerry Woodard, of Burlington, N.J.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
