"Bill" Parker, age 81, of 97 Sluder Branch Rd., died Thursday, November 10, 2011.Mr. Parker was born in Jefferson County, Tenn., and was a resident of Buncombe County for many years. He was employed at American Enka for a number of years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.Surviving are his wife, Johnie Greene Parker; daughter, Tammy Parker; granddaughter, Amanda Parham; and great grandchildren, Brynn and Jayden.His service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, November 17, 2011, in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.At other times, the family will be at the residence.
