Obituary of William Parker


William (Bill) Parker November 2nd, 1920 - July 20th, 2015 William (Bill) Parker, grandson to Burnaby pioneers Jesse and Martha Love, passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2015 at George Derby Centre. Bill was born November 2nd, 1920 in Burnaby and grew up in the Love Farmhouse, which can be found at the Burnaby Village Museum. He was predeceased by his wife May, brother Albert and cousin Bert Exworthy. He is survived by his daughters Constance, Nancy and Dale, grandchildren Claire, Michael (Laura), Andrew, Kimberley, David and Suzanne (Josh) and great-grandchildren Grant, Mark, Summer, Gwyneth, Jack and Nathan. In 1943 Bill joined the Canadian Air Force and served overseas in WW2 until 1945. After the war Bill worked his way up to become the Assessor of Surrey for the BC Assessment Authority. He retired to a home he built in Secret Cove, BC and enjoyed many wonderful years boating, fishing and being part of the Sunshine Coast community. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter House and everyone at Copeman Healthcare Centre for the incredibly compassionate and exemplary care given to Bill in his final years and to Dr. Truong for his exceptional care. A memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held at St. Alban's church 7717-19th Ave, Burnaby on Saturday, September 12th at 10am.
