William J. O'Keefe, 61, Venice, died April 15, 2004. He was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Boston and came to Venice 10 years ago from Plymouth, Mass. He was a former lieutenant with the Massachusetts State Police and an adjunct professor of criminal justice at St. Leo University. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Retired State Troopers Association and the former Massachusetts State Trooper Association. He received a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and a master's degree from Anna Maria University, both in Massachusetts. He was a member of Jacaranda West Country Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Symphony; a son, Patrick of Apex, N.C.; stepsisters Kathleen Solomon of New Hampshire and Patti Cavanaugh of Attleboro, Mass.; a twin brother, Eugene of Salem, S.C.; and a stepbrother, Daniel Largey of Quincy, Mass. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ewing Funeral Home. A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
