William J. Conlon, 77, of Union, N.J., died on June 12, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 9:15 a.m. at St. Michael's Church. Interment is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. from the Bradley Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union. Born and raised in Newark, N.J., William also lived in Maplewood, N.J., before moving to Union 35 years ago. He worked in mail services for Asarco in Newark for 20 years, then Varityper in East Hanover, N.J., for 10 years, retiring 15 years ago. William loved gardening, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a 15-year member of the Vailsburg Volunteer First Aid Squad, and a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Church. William is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joan Conlon (nee Duffe); a niece, Nancy Rudick, and his brothers-in-law, John and his wife, Dorothy Duffe, Rev. Stephen Duffe, and Kevin and his wife, Gail Duffe.
