WILLIAM HENRY (Harry) GOLDING The family of William (Harry) Golding wish to announce his passing on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Veteran's Village in Saskatoon. Dad was 86 years old. He was born and raised in Meadow Lake, SK and at the young age of 19 joined the RCAF and served courageously as a Lancaster Air Gunner. Among other medals, dad received the DFC for which we are very proud. After recovering from serious injuries, Dad returned to Canada and worked at variety of jobs including accounting, construction office managing, and sales. He loved gardening and continued this at Veteran's Village. Dad also enjoyed his pets most notably his dog Shea and his cat Jade. Enjoying summers at Wakaw Lake and helping his children with renovations was always something Dad was busy doing in his spare time. Dad was predeceased by his brother John Henry, killed at 19 in WWII, his parents William and Nellie, and his wife Margaret. He is survived by his sister Doreen (Huxley) of Maidstone; daughter Gillian of London, England; sons Jack (Lois) of North Battleford, Kevin (Eunice) of Saskatoon, Kim (Tami) and their sons Brandon and Justin; and granddaughter Brooklyn; stepdaughters Catherine (Doug) Wright, Heather (Mike) Livermore, Bonnie (Jim) Dobchuk and Debbie McGuire (Brian). Dad also is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Following cremation the Memorial Service will be held at Sherbrooke Village 401 Acadia Dr., Saskatoon, SK at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Interment at North Battleford, SK will take place at a later date. The family wish to thank all the staff at Veteran's Village, especially House 10, for the compassionate care Grampa Harry received over the last few years. Memorial donations are encouraged to the Sherbrooke Foundation 401 Acadia Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7H 2E7. Arrangements are in care of Nicole Whiteside of Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre 955-1600.
