OBITUARY WILFRED GEORGE HAMSON Passed away peacefully, April 16, 2005 surrounded by family after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Wilf's faith and sense of humour along with the support of family, friends, colleagues and a number of special health care professionals enabled him to meet this challenge head-on with grace. He leaves behind his wife, Daphne (Ardell), and his pride and joy, two children (with Patricia Halford), Angela (Vaughn), Alan and grandson Ryan. He recently welcomed two more grandchildren into his life, Caleb and Sarah. He is survived by his father, Wilfred, siblings Trudy (Ken), Gregg (Danielle), Roger (Lilly); brother-in-law, Bill Ardell (Sherry) as well as nieces and nephews. Wilf had a thirty-six year career with Bell Canada, was past president of the Montreal Rotary Club and was passionately involved with the Terry Fox Run since its inception. He also loved to sing and performed with the Lakeshore Light Opera and participated in many other choral concerts primarily in Hudson. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday April 23 at 12 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, Place du Canada, 1101 Stanley St., corner Peel and La Gauchetiere. The interment of ashes will take place at St. James Anglican Church, 642 Main Rd., Hudson, at 3:30 p.m. with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the VON Beaconsfield, CLSC Lac St-Louis, West Island Palliative Care Residence or the Terry Fox Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
