'Don' AUGUSTA, Ga. - Walter (Don) Donald McNeill, 80, died peacefully at his residence January 5, 2011, surrounded by his family. Mr. McNeill was preceded in death by his wife Jo P. McNeill, father, Walter N. McNeill and mother, Annie Lois McNeill. Mr. McNeill was a native of Tallassee, AL. He attended Blaney Baptist Church and was very involved in the "Chatterbox" Club. Mr. McNeill was retired from Augusta Newsprint. He loved gospel music and was an avid sports fan. Family members include daughters: Donna McNeill Landers (Ken), Alicia McNeill DeWeese (Jim), Marsha McNeill Raycroft (Jeff), son: Brian Keith McNeill, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, fiancŽ Mary Ann Miles and his beloved Maltese, Joy. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Philip Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Tudor, Jerald Humphrey, Elvin Haynes, Jimmy Elliot, Mike Smith and Pete Knox. Mr. McNeill has requested that memorial contributions may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, PO Box 305, Elgin, SC 29045, or the "Chatterbox" Club, c/o Carlton Bonham, 444 Edisto Dr., Belvedere, SC 29841.
