SMITH-EILEEN VYVIAN (MONTAGUE), of Lafleche, SK, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8th, 2008 at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim, long-time friend Tommy McKee, and her grandson Michael. Eileen was born in Birmingham, England, served in the British Military, and bravely immigrated to Canada in 1946. Eileen will be lovingly remembered and missed by her family: son Ian (Maxine) and their children Richard (Tammy), Cory (Joy), Linda and Trevor (Ksenya); son Derek (Terry) and their daughter Shauna (Eric); son Glenn (Brenda) and their children Ken (Shelley), Keith (Christy); grandchildren Amy, Melissa, Jason, Natasha, Jordan, Emily, James, Mackenzie, Mikenna, Sebastian and Jordan; four great-grandchildren; niece Jeannie and nephew Jim. Eileen is survived by her brother Alan (Maureen) of Portsmouth, England, and their family. Eileen was an energetic, spirited and vivacious woman who lived life to the fullest and was always quick to laugh. She was a generous and loving spirit, giving of herself freely to her family, many friends and community. Eileen was an active member of the Canadian Legion Auxiliary, spoiled her grandchildren shamelessly, and enjoyed her time on the bowling lanes with friends. The family would like to thank the Home Care workers, nurses and doctors of the Five Hills Health Region who were very kind and helped so much in making her last years comfortable and enjoyable. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lafleche United Church, Lafleche, SK. The Reverend Linda Tomlinson officiating. Interment to follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, Sk.
