Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Virginia "Ginger" WilliamsGerton - Virginia "Ginger" Williams, 72, of Gerton, went Home to celebrate Thanksgiving in Heaven on Thursday morning, November 28, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Raymond "Ray" Freeman and Rita Searcy Freeman.She married the love of her life, Melvin Williams, April 7, 1961 and had been married for 42 years when he went Home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2003. Mrs. Williams is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Williams Alley and husband, Jay, of Gerton and Cindy Williams Wilson and fianc&#233;, Shannon Frye and his son, Colt, of Gerton. Mrs. Williams is also survived by her precious granddaughter, Brittany Elizabeth Rae Wilson, of Gerton and grandson, Robbie Alley and wife, Stephanie, of Pauline, SC. Mrs. Williams is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Cassidy Alley of Pauline, SC.Mrs. Williams is also survived by her younger brother, Donald Freeman and wife, Syble, of Gerton. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Raleigh Freeman.Mrs. Williams is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Furman Williams and wife, Janette, of Arden, David Williams and wife, Debbie, of Candler, Clarence Williams and wife, Judy, of Skyland, Jimmy Williams and his wife, Alma, of Candler, and Richard McDonald of Arden. Mrs. Williams is also survived by her sister-in-law, Imogene Helms and husband, Jake, of Gibsonville, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ted Williams and sisters-in-law, Eva Meece and Barbara McDonald.Mrs. Williams is also survived by an aunt, Thelma Jenkins, of Oakley and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Mrs. Williams had a special gift for crocheting, knitting, tatting, sewing, and baking. Mrs. Williams was active in her community as a member of the Gerton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in the 1970s. She was a member of Bearwallow Baptist Church. She attended Arden Missionary Baptist Church.The family would like to thank the staff at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville for the extraordinary care and compassion shown to Mrs. Williams during her stay with them.A Celebration of Life will be held at Mrs. Williams' home in Gerton on Sunday, December 1, from 3 to 5 PM. Refreshments will be provided. Please come and share a favorite memory of Mrs. Williams. A memorial service will be held at Bearwallow Baptist Church on Monday, December 2, at 2 PM with the Reverend Bobby Dees officiating and Reverend Stephen Israel, Reverend Donald Freeman and Reverend Jonathan Jenkins assisting. Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Baptist Church cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road Flat Rock, NC 28731.Thos.
