AUGUSTA, Ga. - Virginia Whitley Johnson beloved wife of the late Col. Richard S. Johnson, entered into rest on February 12, 2011 at Trinity Hospital of Augusta from complications associated with a recent stroke. Graveside funeral services will be held 1PM Friday February 18, 2011 at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Bryan Cockrell officiating. A memorial service will follow a with a reception at Brandon Wilde on Friday. Mrs. Johnson attended church services at The Sanctuary and Brandon Wilde. She was a former member of St. Joseph Auxiliary and the Christian Women's Club also serving in The Brandon Wilde Gift Shop. Survivors include her daughter Janet Marie Johnson; sons Richard Stephen Johnson, Jr. and Timothy Lee Johnson; sisters and brother in-law Edith Propst, Dot and Sam Cawley; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM on Thursday February 17, 2011 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez.
