Obituary of Virginia-L. Williams


BEDFORD -- Virginia L. Williams, 91, a resident of Laurel Center, died Oct. 19, 2009. She was born in Lynn, Mass., Sept. 10, 1918, to Arthur and Mabel (Dickey) Gagnon. She was raised and educated in Lynn and received an associate degree from business school. She spent most of her life on the North Shore and several years in Florida; she loved Rockport, Mass., and lived there for many years before coming to Bedford in January 2007. She was employed in various positions as an office manager. After retirement, she cared for seniors who needed assistance with daily tasks, enabling them to stay in their own homes. She was very artistic, played the piano and was a soprano soloist. She was an avid Teddy Bear lover. She was predeceased by her son, Dale R. Williams of Merrimack, who died in May 2008. IN HER LIFE: Members of her family include her son, Bruce Williams of Lowell, Mass., his daughter, Jacqueline, and stepson, Scott Christophers, two daughters, Sharon L. Christopherson of Merrimack, her children, Kim Esters, Karin Wood and Erik Christopherson, and Cheryl Kilgore of Hamilton, Mass., and her children, Kathryn and Ethan. She had 10 great-grandchildren.
