Virginia (Jini) Johnson DOVER - Virginia (Jini) Johnson, 87, died Saturday June 1, 2013 in the company of family and the caring staff at Watson Fields. She was born in North Plainfield, N.J., daughter of Mae and Frank Hooper. She graduated from Northwestern University, having been chosen "Dream Girl of Kappa Delta." Virginia was a teacher at Marshwood Junior High School in South Berwick for 14 years. In 2008 she received the "Volunteer of the Year" award from Woodman Park School in Dover. Virginia is best known for her generosity and caring for others, especially for her family. Virginia is survived by her sister, Dover City Councilor and State Representative Dorothea Hooper, her daughters Lynn Allen and Terry Carter, sons-in-law Paul Allen and Kirk Carter, and her daughter-in-law Lorraine Johnson. Virginia was predeceased by her son Eric Johnson. She was especially proud of the accomplishments of her grandchildren Elizabeth, Rebecca, Emily and Hannah Allen, and Alicia, Christopher and Michelle Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on behalf of Virginia's son, Eric Johnson, to Krempels Center, providing services to people living with brain injury.
