SYLACAUGA, AL - Funeral service for Thomas W. "Tom" Anderson, 79, will be Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Radney-Smith Chapel with Dr. Jeff Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Weogufka Family Worship Center Cemetery in Weogufka, AL. Mr. Anderson died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. Anderson Sr.; mother, Myra (Ponder) Anderson Johnson; sister, Myra Eva Blankenship; and step-son, Jeffrey Robinson. He graduated from Georgia Tech with his degree in Engineering and then worked for Lockheed-Martin in Georgia as a structural engineer. In 1974, he established the Yamaha dealership in Sylacauga and owned and operated the dealership until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Nell Anderson, of Sylacauga; son, Jon Anderson, and wife, Dianna, of Rockford; step-brother, Renny Johnson; step-son, Steve Robinson; grandson, Dalton Anderson; granddaughter, Emily Pitts, and husband, Rick; grandsons, Justin Robinson, and wife, Andrea, Shane Robinson, and wife, Jamie, and Trey Turner; granddaughter, Summer Wright; great-grandsons, Dylan Robinson, Drake Pitts, and Jadon Robinson; great-granddaughter, Shaley Robinson; one nephew and two nieces. Visitation will be Tuesday July 24, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Frankie Hamilton, Eddie Murray, Kevin Cowell, Jason Blocker, Keith Ray and Dustin Wright. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com. Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
