THOMAS R. GADSBY III MELBOURNE Today there is only one set of footprints in the sand. God has carried a warrior home. Thomas R. Gadsby III peacefully crossed over into Gods hands on Friday, March 3, 2006, with his wife, Cather ine, by his side, at their home. Thomas was born July 21, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA and was a Brevard County resident since 1989. Thomas was an avid ham operator and builder of ham equipment since he was young enough to operate a radio with his dad. He will miss his ham buddies but will always be on their frequencies. Thomas was also an accomplished painter with his favorite subject of tall ships. Thomas enlisted into the Army Air Corps on December 8, 1942 and served his country dur ing World War II in the North ern France, Central Europe campaigns. He was honorably discharged from the Army of the United States at McGuire General Hospital in Rich mond, Virginia on November 8, 1945 due to permanent bat tle wounds. He was awarded the EAME Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Stars as well as the Good Conduct Ribbon. A label button was issued on November 8, 1945. Thomas was a member of over 40 years and Past Master to the Hiram Lodge #81, Chestnut Hill, Philadel phia, PA. and an active member of the Suntree Methodist Church of Suntree, FL. Thomas was also one of the original founders dedi cated to the conception and fi nal establishment of the Suntree/Viera Library. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; and his extended family of Candy and Don Graves, step-daughter from West Melbourne, FL; Carl and Cindy Dilks, Sr., step-son from The Villages, FL; Deanna Morris step- granddaughter and step- great-grandsons, Jack and Ben Morris from Danbury, CT; Tammy Stellato, step grand daughter and step great- granddaughter, Kimberly Stellato and step great-grand son, Nicholas Stellato from Longmeadow, MA. Thomas family also included from the past, Buffa lo Bill Cody and sisters, Allie and May Cody. A memorial service to hon or Toms life will be held at the Suntree Methodist Church on March 15th, at 11 a.m. Military honors and a Masonic cere mony will be held in his honor. The family would like to extend an abundance of Thanks to both VITAS Hospice caring and loving staff and Suntree Methodist parishioners and dedicated ministers.
