Katie Sue Dawkins Davis entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, after a long illness. Formerly of 127 Sugar Creek Lane in Greer, S.C., she was born in Greenville on November 3, 1944, the daughter of Fely Warner and Edith Walker Dawkins. She graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1962, from Columbia College in 1966, and later received an MBA degree from the University of South Carolina. She was affiliated with IDS American Express as a financial planner in Greenville. Surviving are her son, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant John Wesley Davis IV (Jay) of Fort Huachuca, Arizona; two brothers, Joe Walker Dawkins and his wife, Carolyn, of Avon, Conn., and Patrick Warner Dawkins and his wife, Jan, of Williamston, S.C.; a sister, Jane Dawkins Hicklin and her husband, Rob, of Charleston, S.C.; and numerous nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Westview Cemetery in Easley, S.C., at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. Priscilla Pearce.
