BELINSKY, Sophie (nee Martyn) - In loving memory of Sophie (nee Martyn) Belinsky, 68 years, who passed away Saturday, September 20th, 2008 at the SRH - Laurentian Site. Born in Cochrane, Sophie has lived in Sudbury for many years. A devout Catholic, she attended St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church and she had been a longtime member of the parish Women's league. She enjoyed cooking and preserving. An avid gardener, her green thumb produced bountiful vegetables and beautiful flowers. She had an appreciation for music and an affinity for animals especially her well loved house cats. Sophie was devoted to her loving family and she will be well remembered as a wonderful and loving mother. Beloved wife of John George Belinsky predeceased 2006. Loving mother of Mary Catherine, Caroline and Roman Belinsky all of Sudbury. Cherished daughter of John and Mary Martyn predeceased. Dear sister of Taras Martyn (wife Paddy) and Adelina Martyn both of Sudbury and Andrew Martyn (wife Kay) of Toronto. Special cousin to George Evanoff (wife Jean) of Chisholm. Special friend of Walter Bilyj and Olga Zembrzycki, and predeceased by brother-in-law Nick Ropundala. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 40 Notre Dame Ave., Sudbury Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 at 12 noon. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. Panakhyda 7 p.m. Monday.
