EAST MONTPELIER - Shirley Wright, 75, died on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Heaton Woods in Montpelier. She was born in East Montpelier on Jan. 7, 1935, to Harold and Alice (Bean) Breer.Shirley was educated at the 4-Corner Elementary School in East Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1953. She worked at Union Mutual Insurance Company in Montpelier, cooked for the hot lunch program at 4-Corner Elementary School and was a child caregiver for several years.She was a 4-H leader for 27 years in Montpelier and East Montpelier, a delegate to the 1953 National 4-H Conference in Washington DC and a member of the Vermont State 4- H Honorary Society. She attended the Old Brick Church and was a member of the Old Brick Church Club. Shirley married Clifton G. Wright on Nov. 5, 1955. She was interested in sewing, traveling, bingo, the Boston Red Sox, and spending time with her family.She is survived by her son, Terry C. Wright of Barton; daughters, Wendy W. Gould, her husband Scott of East Montpelier and Heather Jo Bushey and her spouse, Katherine Feller of East Montpelier; grandsons Terry J. (T.J.) Wright of Barre, Lance L. Perry and his wife Christine of Barre, Samuel A. Wright of Middlesex; granddaughters Melissa L. Perry-Bridger and her husband, Stuart of Wilmington, N.C., Miranda A. Bushey of East Montpelier; sisters, Marilyn B. Perry of Barre Town, Beverly B. Bagalio and her husband, Pete of Montpelier; step-grandchildren Daniel Gould and Rhiannon Gould; several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband in 1993; brothers Wayne A. Breer, Clifford A. Breer, George H. Breer and Wilbur C. Breer; sisters Evelyn B. Long and two baby sisters, one of whom was named Doris.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Old Brick Church in East Montpelier. Burial will be in Plain-Mont Cemetery after the service. A reception to celebrate Shirley's life will held at the Sibley Farm in East Montpelier following her burial.Memorial contributions may be made to Home, Health and Hospice, 500 Granger Road, Barre VT 05641.The family wishes to acknowledge some very special people that made Shirley's life more comfortable the past several years: Lydia Faesy, Dr. Felsted, Dr. Calhoun, Dr. Hammel, staff at Woodridge Nursing Home and Heaton Woods.Arrangements are by Barber & Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services in Montpelier.
