HARRIS, SHIRLEY The Diabetes Research Institute and Foundation are deeply saddened over the passing of our dear friend and longtime supporter Shirley Harris, whose extraordinary passion for finding a cure for diabetes will be greatly missed. Shirley's involvement with the DRI dates back several decades and she was one of the earliest members of our Heritage Society, ensuring that funding for a cure will continue into the future. In recognition of her generosity, the Shirley Harris Administrative Pavilion bears her name. An active member of the organization's Love and Hope Committee, she perennially served as an Honoree of the Love and Hope Ball, and supported numerous other DRIF events over the years. Shirley was also a member of the DRI Foundation's Florida Region Board of Directors. Shirley profoundly touched all of our lives and we are fortunate to have known her. A memorial service is planned for Monday, October 6 at 2:00 pm at the Diabetes Research Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, 1450 N.W. 10th Avenue, Miami, FL.
