Obituary of Sandra-Benge Baker


Mrs. Sandra Gail Benge Baker, age 50, of Holy Cross Road, Loretto, passed away at 10:50 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.She was born on March 27, 1963 in San Antonio, Tx. to the late Marvin and Ethel Denney Benge. She was a 1981 graduate of Lincoln County High School, a homemaker and a member of the New Birth Mission at Loretto. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Kristen Duff and a grandson, Jaxx Leffew.Survivors include her husband, Brian Baker; four daughters, Alana Gatliff of Danville, Whitney Hitchner (Samuel) of Junction City, Melissa Baker (Bobby) of Harrodsburg and Kimberly Leffew (Travis) of Moreland; thirteen grandchildren; a step-son, Zachary Baker of Lexington; two step-daughters, Kelly Lunsford (Joshua) and Kara Lunsford (Darrell) all of Willisburg; a sister, Debbie Wilburn (Dan) of Stanford and a brother, Greg Benge of Junction City.Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at the New Birth Mission with Rev. Larry Baker, the church pastor, officiating.Burial was in the Baker Family Cemetery at Willisburg.Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Baker, Travis Leffew, Jeremiah Brannan, Brian Moore, Brandon Lunsford and Joshua Lunsford.Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
