Obituary of Sally-Sue-Howe-Haines Bell


BELL Sally Sue Howe Haines Bell, 89, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Jacksonville, Florida. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 04, 2011 in the chapel at the Arlington United Methodist Church of Jacksonville. Sally was born on December 19, 1921 in Birmingham, Alabama to Henry B. Howe and Grace Mann Howe. Sally attended Birmingham Southern College and was a graduate of Agnes Scott College. Sally retired from the FAA in Hilliard, FL in 1972 where she then remained home to raise her family. Sally was predeceased by her parents, husband's George William Henry Haines and Harold Richard Bell, her brother Henry Branch Howe Jr. and stepdaughter Karen Bell Faciane. She is survived by her beloved son, Henry Branch Haines, stepdaughters, Emily Ruth Haines Surowiec, Kathleen Bell Dunkley Stephens (Ken), Barbara Bell Patten (Bobby), Brenda Bell Bishop (Robin); a step-son Eric R. Bell (Caroline), a niece and nephew, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Northeast Florida Community Hospice in memory of Sally.
