SUSAN MARY CULLEN 1942 - 2014 Peacefully, surrounded by her children on Friday, January 10, 2014. Cherished mother of Sean and Nadine Fleming, wonderful mother-in-law of Jennifer Pearson, beloved Nana of Niels and Lola Fleming. Dear sister of Diane Barley and Judy Gill (Peter), and dear aunt to Glenn, Cyd, Craig and Lara. Susan was a loving friend to Bob Ramsay, Faye McCafee, and Tina Wassanaar. She was predeceased by her parents Molly and Patrick Cullen, her brother Patrick, and former husband Leo Fleming. Born in Ottawa, Susan was raised and educated in Montreal. She later relocated to Toronto, where she held various business positions before founding TCG Transitions in 1990. Susan was a passionate career coach. For over 20 years, she helped those at a professional crossroads to find new directions in their lives. She was a natural healer and spiritual seeker, an elegant woman who adored books, news, fitness and gardening. With her constant, profound curiosity about life, Susan was an amazing listener. She was funny and spirited, and took special delight in her grandchildren. What she loved most was getting people to realize their own potential. In the final four years of her life, Susan showed enormous courage in confronting a rare and debilitating brain disease. She modelled grace, bravery and persistence in the face of many challenges, while supporting self-determination for the terminally ill in Canada. In lieu of flowers, donations to research into neurological illnesses would be welcomed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th at Sherrin Funeral Home, 873 Kingston Rd., Toronto.
