Ruth B. Kimball, 79 BRIDGTON -- Ruth B. Kimball, 79, of Bridgton, passed away at her home Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, with her family by her side. She was born on May 22, 1930, in Harrison, the daughter of Alden and Mildred Davis. She lived her childhood days in Harrison and North Bridgton, attending Bridgton schools. She married the late Wilbur Kimball Sr. on Sept. 12, 1948, and resided in their Bridgton home for over 50 years. Ruth was a caring and loving mother of six children. Her home was the 'hub' of the family, which gathered there for holiday dinners as well as daily visits. She was an excellent cook, being known for her pie-making which was on full display during the holidays with a wide assortment of flavors. She also cooked for suppers at the United Methodist Church in Bridgton, provided laundry service to some area residents and a local children's camp, and created various crafts for church sales. She cherished her time working her many flower gardens. Affectionately known as 'Oma,' her main focus was always her family. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wilbur, who passed away on March 29, 2005; her brother, Gerald Haley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived by her children, Alletta Kimball, Robert A. Kimball Sr. and his wife Robin, Wilbur 'Billy' Kimball Jr., Linda Johnson, Julie Mowatt and her husband Stephen, Susan Rivet and her husband Wayne, all of Bridgton; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 at Raymond-Wentworth Funeral Home, Elm Street, Bridgton. The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Main Street, Bridgton, with the Pastor Nancy Smiths officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Kansas Road, Bridgton. Arrangements by Raymond-Wentworth Funeral Home, Bridgton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory can be made to the United Methodist Church. Ruth B. Kimball
